The rounds#

August Robotics. The company announced a US$30m Series B on 21 May 2026, led by Big Pi Ventures. Existing investors Blackbird, Skip Capital, Tanarra and Future Family Office took part, and GS Futures joined as a new investor. The company makes autonomous drilling robots for large construction sites, first used on AI data-centre builds, and floor-marking robots for exhibitions. It says the funds will support its seven hubs, including a new EMEA hub in Athens.

Acumino. The company raised an $11.7m seed round led by Radar Ventures. Schaeffler, Big Pi Ventures, MegaChips, LDV Partners and Bulent Celebi also took part. Its total funding is now $19.2m, according to Big Pi's post of 24 June 2026. Acumino builds task-specific AI models for robots handling dexterous industrial work. It is one of 15 startups in Google DeepMind's first robotics accelerator. An Athens base serving European clients since 2024 is reported by Startupper, 5 Oct 2026. The investor release does not mention it.

finmid. The Berlin embedded-lending company announced €17m on 13 October 2026, led by Big Pi Ventures through its Big Pi Growth fund, with Mainset co-investing and Earlybird following on. This brings its total funding to €52m. The company says it has extended more than €4bn in financing offers across 30 European markets. Alongside the round it launched vehicle financing for fleet operators on Bolt and "Skroutz Funding", under which Greece's largest online marketplace lends to its merchants from its own capital. Big Pi's post of 16 October 2026 adds that part of the funding will go towards an Athens hub.

Open Cosmos. The satellite maker said on 9 October 2026 that it had closed a new €300m round less than a month earlier. Two Greek investors, Sustainable Forward Capital and Ireon Ventures, took part, along with ETF Partners and the Endeavor Catalyst Fund. At an Athens event the company said it plans to grow its Greek workforce eightfold by 2030 and add production sites. Its Greek unit, Open Cosmos Aegean, builds seven satellites for the National Microsatellite Programme; the first, Hyperion GR-1, launched in July 2026. These are company plans, not commitments we can verify.

Greek money in international venture funds#

Endeavor Catalyst Fund V. Endeavor Catalyst announced the final close of its fifth fund at $320m on 7 October 2026, taking its assets under management above $850m. The fund co-invests in companies from the Endeavor entrepreneur network.

On 21 October 2026 Endeavor Greece presented the Greek share. As reported by Naftemporiki, 21 Oct 2026:

  • Greek commitments: $70m from 17 Greek investors, or 22% of the fund, the largest share of any Endeavor market.
  • Investors named: Alpha Bank, Eurobank, National Bank of Greece and Piraeus Bank, along with Greek business and diaspora families.
  • Earlier funds: Greek commitments were $5m in Fund III (2019) and $24m in Fund IV (2022).

The Greek split comes from a presentation reported by the press. Endeavor's own 7 October release does not give a breakdown by country. The commitment is to an international fund, so it is not money earmarked for Greek startups. The deal is also logged in the deals tracker.

The public money behind Greek VC#

Much of the Greek venture market runs through public fund-of-funds programmes, which back private managers who then invest in companies.

The EIF says several EquiFund II funds have reached, or are close to, a first closing. HDBI lists a €400m co-investment partnership with Mubadala, first signed in 2018 and since extended. For these figures we rely on the programme pages, not on press summaries.

Reading the numbers#

  • Currencies. Rounds are shown in the currency the company announced: two in dollars, two in euros. We do not add them together.
  • Greek link. A Greek lead investor or an Athens hub does not make a company Greek-headquartered. August Robotics was founded in 2017 and finmid in Berlin in 2021, according to their releases.
  • Valuations are not given, because none of the four companies disclosed one.
